Lamb’s Liturgy:

This ministry if for young children (typically 4-8 years old) who are attending mass with their families. It uses the Liturgy of the Word adapted to make it relevant to the lives and experiences of young children.  It offers the opportunity to understand the Gospel message and participate in the Eucharistic celebration at their level.

After mass has started, Father calls the Liturgy Leaders and children to gather and then process out of the Sanctuary to the Warehouse for the liturgy.  Children return to the mass after the Prayers of the Faithful and join their families for the remainder of the mass.

This experience is a powerful one for the children and allows Parish members to introduce the Word of God as Liturgy leaders. It is a great way to build community with children and other Parish families as well.

Please contact the parish office for more information or if you’d like to learn more about becoming a Lamb’s Liturgy leader. Teens are welcome to assist!

Mass for Minis

For families with infants, toddlers and young preschool aged children.

Parents are invited to bring their young children to actively participate in a “mass experience” with age-appropriate activities in a child-friendly space.  The program allows children to join in celebrating our faith by participating in various aspects of the Catholic mass including: a processional, reading of and acting out the Gospels, learning about the Eucharist.

A mix of songs, crafts and storytelling will be used to help our youngest members experience their faith at a level that makes sense to them while being fun and engaging!

Sample outline of a Mass for Minis session:

~Gathering (processional: carry “candles”, sing opening song, welcome prayer)

~Sing the Gloria

~Liturgy of the Word (Child-friendly reading of Bible story followed by an activity/craft/game to support reading) *** Bible study will progress chronologically to help children learn how the stories fit together.

~Liturgy of the Eucharist (Offertory, Eucharistic prayer, Our Father, Sign of Peace)

~SNACK

~Closing (sign of cross, “Go in peace”, closing prayer and song)

Our goal is to prepare our children to participate fully and actively in the Catholic mass.  All are welcome and we want our children to know that they are loved, even when they are not perfect!

We expect: movement, noise, laughter, distraction, interruptions, potty breaks, accidents and even a few tears/meltdowns.   Please help keep everyone safe by monitoring your child, but also help one another and demonstrate patience.
